About this role
ποΈ Measure, cut, and install wood framing, formwork, and related carpentry components for masonry and construction projects.
π Read plans, sketches, and layout instructions to complete work accurately and to specification.
π§ Build, repair, and install structures and fixtures such as temporary supports, frames, trim, and site-built wood components.
π¦ Follow safe work practices on active construction sites and maintain a clean, organized work area.
π§° Select, maintain, and safely use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment.
π€ Coordinate with forepersons, masons, and other trades to keep projects moving on schedule.
β Inspect completed work for quality, fit, alignment, and finish, making corrections as needed.
π¦ Load, move, and secure materials and supplies to support daily site operations.
Requirements
π Completion of secondary school and carpentry-related training or apprenticeship experience is preferred.
β³ Minimum 2 years of carpentry or related construction experience is preferred.
πͺ Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, standing, bending, and working outdoors in varied weather.
π οΈ Strong practical knowledge of measuring, cutting, framing, and installation methods.
π Good attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality workmanship.
π€ Ability to work well with a crew, follow instructions, and communicate clearly on site.
π Valid driverβs licence and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Moose Jaw are an asset.
