Experienced Nursery Workers

Rocky View County, Alberta Full Time $23/hr

About this role

  • 🌳 Plant, transplant, and move large trees and nursery stock safely and efficiently.

  • βœ‚οΈ Prune trees and shrubs to support healthy structure, strong growth, and the best marketable form.

  • πŸ‘€ Inspect plants for signs of infection, pest damage, nutrient issues, and other health concerns.

  • 🚜 Operate and assist with nursery equipment, tools, and hand labour both indoors and outdoors.

  • 🌱 Water, fertilize, stake, and maintain plant material according to seasonal requirements.

  • πŸ“‹ Record plant condition, pruning work, and treatment activities as directed by supervisors.

  • 🦺 Follow safe lifting, rigging, and worksite safety practices when handling heavy stock and materials.

  • 🀝 Work with team members to prepare orders, load materials, and keep production areas organized.
    πŸ‘€ Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • ⏳ Minimum 1 year of nursery, landscaping, greenhouse, or tree care experience is required.

  • πŸ‘€ Strong ability to recognize plant stress, infection, disease symptoms, and pruning needs.

  • πŸ’ͺ Physically fit and comfortable working in all weather conditions and lifting heavy materials.
    🀝 Work well as a team and able to transfer skills to other team members.

  • πŸ› οΈ Experience handling hand tools, pruning equipment, and basic nursery machinery.

  • 🦺 Reliable, self-motivated, and able to follow instructions while working independently or with a team.
    🌳 Pesticide applicant licence is an asset but will be required to obtain if hired.

  • πŸš— Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation to the Rocky View County worksite are an asset.

  • πŸ“š Good English communication skills and willingness to learn company procedures and safety practices.

Terms of employment

Permanent full-time employment, year-round work, 40 hours per week, with indoor and outdoor duties and a standard probationary period.
