About this role

  • Consult with clients to determine kitchen layout needs, lifestyle requirements, budget, appliance preferences, storage solutions, and overall design vision

  • Develop detailed kitchen layouts and 3D renderings illustrating cabinetry, countertops, islands, appliances, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and workflow using kitchen design software (e.g., 2020 Design)

  • Prepare plans, elevations, and detailed drawings, ensuring optimal space planning, functionality, and adherence to kitchen work triangle principles and ergonomic standards

  • Advise clients on selection of cabinetry styles, finishes, materials, hardware, countertops, backsplashes, flooring, and lighting, ensuring alignment with design trends, durability, and safety standards

  • Ensure designs comply with building codes, electrical and plumbing requirements, and industry best practices

  • Estimate project costs, materials, and timelines; coordinate with suppliers and provide guidance on product selection and procurement

  • Prepare final design specifications and installation documentation for contractors and installers

  • Collaborate with contractors, cabinet makers, suppliers, and other trades to ensure accurate execution of the design

  • Conduct site measurements and verify project conditions prior to design and installation

  • May oversee or coordinate installation activities and subcontractors to ensure design intent and quality standards are achieved

Requirements

  • Proven experience in kitchen design, cabinetry sales, or interior design, with a strong focus on kitchens and functional space planning

  • Ability to collaborate with clients to understand design needs, lifestyle requirements, preferences, and budget constraints

  • Proficiency in kitchen design software (e.g., 2020 Design) to create detailed layouts, renderings, and technical drawings

  • Strong knowledge of cabinetry construction, countertop materials, finishes, hardware, and current kitchen design trends

  • Ability to present design concepts clearly, including layouts, color schemes, materials, and finishes, and incorporate client feedback effectively

  • Experience preparing accurate technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and installation

  • Solid understanding of measurements, site verification, and spatial planning to ensure design accuracy

  • Knowledge of building codes, and basic electrical and plumbing considerations related to kitchen design

  • Strong coordination skills to work with contractors, suppliers, and installers to ensure timely and accurate project completion

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to guide clients through product selection and close design projects successfully
