About this role

Core Responsibilities

Labourers perform a wide range of tasks that vary by project:

  • Site Preparation & Maintenance: Cleaning and clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures like scaffolds or heaters.

  • Material Handling: Loading and unloading trucks, and transporting materials such as lumber, traffic signs, pipes, or tools to specific areas on-site.

  • Mechanic Assistance: Helping mechanics by holding parts, passing tools, or accessing materials like motor fluids.

  • Equipment Operation: Using hand and power tools (drills, saws, plate tampers) and occasionally operating small heavy machinery like skid steers or pressure washers.

Requirements

  • Seeking individual for full time laborer position. Applicants should:

    • Have a valid class 5G driver’s license

    • Own a cell phone and have reliable transportation to work.

    • Be able to pass a REQUIRED drug and alcohol test

    • Be willing and able to work long hours, as needed

    • Be willing to work weekends and out of town

    • Be physically fit (shoveling and raking will be required)

    Applicants should also:

    • Be good team players, but also able to work independently

    • Be mechanically inclined

    • Be punctual and hardworking

    • Be detail oriented and organized

    • Show a strong commitment to health and safety compliance

    • Be able to keep equipment interior clean

    • Must be familiar with City of Saskatoon

    Position subject to a three-month probationary period. Wage is negotiable and will reflect applicant’s experience and performance. Benefits available to be opted into following probationary period.
